Woman Receive Mother’s Day Gifts From Their Children, Thanks to Generous Donation from Placentia Round Table Women’s Club
The 30 women seeking shelter from domestic violence at WTLC received wonderful Mother’s Day gifts, courtesy of a generous donation from the Placentia Round Table Women’s Club.
Placentia Round Table and WTLC board member Lori Maxfield “smart” shopped for the ladies, and was able to purchase $2,885 worth of items for the $1,000 donation.
Gifts included purses, sandals, pajamas and watches, as well as a decorative picture frame with the photo of their little ones taken that same day. Round Table members set up a “store” for the children to “shop,” for their moms. They assisted the children with their selections to ensure their mom received the right sizes. The Round Table helped the children wrap their gifts.
“One child was over heard saying ‘this is the first time I have ever shopped for my mom,’" Maxfield said. “We wanted to let the mothers that are seeking shelter this Mother's Day at WTLC to know that they were not forgotten. To see the excitement and joy on the faces of the women and children is priceless,” she added.
